Winchester (2018)

Director:  The Spierig Brothers

Starring: Helen Mirren, Sarah Snook, Finn Scicluna-O’Prey, Jason Clarke

Ensconced in her sprawling California mansion, eccentric firearm heiress Sarah Winchester believes she is haunted by the souls of people killed by the Winchester repeating rifle.

The film reminded me of ’13 Ghosts’, just more realistic – naturally since this is based on fact. The very fact that this is based on a true story made it that much more interesting. I only wish they had shown us a bit more of the fascinating mansion, which is a real house and now a major tourist attraction. I don’t know which was more interesting: the story itself or the house.

I found the film fascinating, to say the least, and it had some genuine scares. The setting in this unusual mansion was awesome. The actors were very good and believable. This is a supernatural film with a sense of realism, and some great visuals. Loved it.
