Wilson Named Steelers Starting Quarterback over Fields
S. Samek
One of the most interesting training camp battles for the Pittsburgh Steelers this past camp was the starting quarterback position. Would Russell Wilson or Justin Fields be the starting signal caller to begin the 2024 season?
Well, that decision has been made and it will be Wilson starting week one against the Atlanta Falcons. This is despite a calf injury hampering Wilson during camp. Wilson went 10 of 12 passing for 73 yards during his preseason time.
Fields went 19-27 for 199 yards while adding 48 rushing yards, which was the most on the team this preseason. He could see time though this season in other packages to best suite his game.
We shall see how this goes next week. Yet for now Steelers trust Wilson as qb1.
