Why Did Jesus Have to Die? There is More Than One Answer

Beginning tomorrow, I will begin a blogging series that will lead us right up to Easter Sunday, March 31. The series will be a synopsis of John Piper’s book The Passion of Jesus Christ: Fifty Reasons Why He Came to Die.

I read this book several years ago, and even though it is brief, I found it enlarged by own understanding of why Jesus’ crucifixion and my own worship of the Lord during the Easter season really deepened.

So I thought that each day on this blog, I would take twp reasons that Piper gives for Jesus’ death on the cross and simply summarize his thoughts which are driven from Scripture.

Use this as a daily devotional if you like or just as something to add to your daily meditations. They will be profound, because that is who our Lord is – profound.

Starting tomorrow, we start unpacking fifty reasons Jesus came to die!
