Why did Dominique Dawes blow off her Mag 7 teammates?

The one gymnast that could not be bothered to show up for the 15 year Anniversary of the 1996 gold medal was Dominique Dawes.

She hasn’t given her usual BS answer yet like she has to hang out with her imaginary boyfriend or new sister she didn’t know she had (Oh wait that was Oprah) but if I had to gather a guess I would bet your house that she hates sharing the spotlight.

She could show up to get her gift bronze medal because she was the star of the show. No one cares about Jamie Dantzscher or Elise Ray. Showing up and standing next to one leg vaulter Kerri Strug or America’s best gymnast doesn’t get you as nearly as much time to run and give your choker coach the medal does it?
