Who is a Fan of J.C. Ryle? This Kansas City Royal!

The Monday feature of the Worldly Saints blog focuses on a story from the sports world – current or historic. The point is to recognize athletes who are using their sports and athletic abilities to further the kingdom of God or to show how some athletes or teams are wasting their days by not giving God the glory.

Even though I am a San Francisco Giants fan, I have no hesitation highlighting players from other teams – especially when I come across a player who is not wasting his life or his sports.

Ben Zobrist, a 2^nd baseman for the Kansas City Royals loves Christ, loves his wife and loves J.C. Ryle. And anytime someone says they love my hero, you get some extra attention from me.

The below interview, featured on Gospel Coalition, is entitled “Pride, Pro Baseball and Perspective” was hosted by blogger Colin Hansen.

I encourage all sports fans and people who love to hear about Christians serving as a witness in that real, to listen to the interview.
