Which panda do you want to be?

Two days ago I was talking with my mum and she said: “Why don’t you have any clothes for children?” I was actually thinking about this before. But she made me draw my first “just for kids” picture.

I’ve been thinking how important is art for kids. They are learning through what they see and they are asking and searching for answers. So my intention is to give them some story and work with their imagination. Kids are such a pure energy coming to us and we should learn from them. Big problem of this society is the system of education. We take kids of the same age and close them in one room like prisoners and teaching all of them the same thing. Why? Most of the kids are not even interested in that. And some of them already know it and some of them are not ready to learn something like that yet. We just take those small gods and destroy their creativity and curiosity and teach them to listen to some authority. We just steal from them lots of time that they could use to learn something that they are really interested in. Is this alright? Why don’t we trust in our own kids?

Let’s create for kids safe space where they can grow and learn what they want. Let’s play with them. Ask them what they see and learn from them. That’s what I want to do with my art for kids. Give space for questions and imagination and listen to opinions of the kids.

If you have small children can you show them this picture and ask them what they see? Which panda on that picture they want to be and why?
