What are Your Motivational Songs?
What would be your motivational songs that get you pumped up for a match or a workout? Just for gentle debate, I have given my top 5. Here they are with its reason:
1. “Discord” by Forever After
This song reminds me of this particular video and one of my heroes of all time in Arnold Schwarzenegger. Only by pushing himself did he achieve that body (and everything else he did in his life).
2. “Numb” by Linkin Park
Just my favourite song of all time. Enough said.
3. “Face the Pain” by Stemm
Just the lyrics in this one and its association with UFC.
4. “Loch Lomand” by Runrig
This song conjures up all kinds of patriotic energy and I used that in my workouts.
5. “Crawling” by Linkin Park
This song pushed me to beyond my limit one time during a particular workout (chest press). Thus, this song reminds me of that time and that I can go further.
6. “Proud” – Heather Small
This song is usually best just before a match or after a sporting achievement. One of the ultimate sports songs!
So if you have your own favourite motivation songs, feel free to comment.
*** Update 2 February 2021 | This seems like an odd post to blog about since I didn’t relate it to performance analysis. However, it was probably a precursor to what songs to use when editing motivational videos. I soon learnt it wasn’t about what songs I found motivating but what songs the team would find motivating. Anyway, play the YouTube video below for a playlist of songs and soundtracks I have used for Polonia SideOut London’s motivational videos ***
