West Region Top 10 (4/6/21)
I’ve got points/set numbers from last week so they will factor into this week’s rankings. Let’s see if it made a difference. Here is my West Region Top 10 for the week:

Here’s my thinking this week. I can’t really move out any of my Top 6. For the most part they didn’t play. The Lewis & Clark/George Fox/Pacific battle is a tough one. L&C has two wins over Pacific who has one win over GFU who has two wins over L&C. George Fox’s wins are the latest and they also appear at #4 on my Points/Set standings so I’m comfortable putting them at the top of this threesome. When I look at just L&C and Pacific, I have to give the advantage to L&C. Pacific, by the way, comes in at #13 in my Points/Set standings. The only question I had going in was whether Pacific would get bounced or not. My other team under strong consideration was Southwestern who are at 10th in the Points/Set standings. In the end, this was the tipping point to bounce not only Pacific but also PLU (11th in P/S standings).
Looking at the teams with the best records that didn’t make the rankings we find LeTourneau (16-5), Pacific (5-2), PLU (8-4) and Austin College (7-5). The ASC is going to shake itself out for me this weekend with their tournament. The Oregon threesome will also get some clarity with the George Fox/Pacific match. Well, unless Pacific wins, I guess. The SCAC is still a couple of weeks away from their tournament but we will see Austin and Southwestern face off this week.
We are getting to the end with the season and the rankings. Teams really just need to keep winning to stay/advance in these rankings at this point.
