West Region Host Site

The other question I get asked a lot is where will the regional take place. I thought the latest answer deserved it’s own post.

Options:

• Texas Regional

• California Regional

• Emory Regional

A Texas regional will most likely take place at Trinity. This will happen if UMHB gets a bid and there are 4 Texas teams. The NCAA will fly in 4 teams (CC, CMS, Pac Lu and Whittier). This is the most probable option.

A California regional will take place at Claremont. I only see this option happening if La Verne (or Cal Lu) get selected and UMHB does not. This would be very fishy to me and frankly it would be a sign that other factors are used in selection. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen.

The most interesting option is Emory. They are the #1 seed in the South and can host a few South teams but can’t fill out the entire bracket. Let’s say the West only gets 6 teams in the tournament – CC, CMS, Trinity, SU, Pac Lu and UTD. Or maybe even 7 with Whittier. The NCAA could then use all flights on the West Region teams and send them to Emory and the excess to other regions around the nation. It would create fairer brackets if done correctly (which it wouldn’t be).
