Week in Review – 16 November 2014
I am pretty much the worst mother to succulents ever, someone needs to just take them out of my custody already.

That’s not even all of the poor things, sadly. I swear I do all the things the Succulent Hippie at the market tells me to do! Including talking to them! They sure aren’t enjoying my company.
Anyway, those puppies got some extra love and attention and most of them moved from their ‘sunny but not mostly direct sun because they will hate that’ perch to make way for winter holiday decorations. Yes, I said holiday decorations. I spent the weekend mostly cleaning odd corners and moving things and getting out all our Christmas stuff. This is my only free weekend for awhile to get this done, and I’ll be damned if it’s well into December and my house is not ready for the holidays. So: sorry not sorry you guys, I’m “that person” this year.
Plus the boys are pretty excited about it. SO THERE.

I could grumblegrumblegrumble about the snow and weather and all that jazz, but it appears all of us in North America are dealing with this crud (shush up, ANNE AND AIMEE, YES WE KNOW SOCAL IS BEAUTIFUL AND IMMUNE 😉 ), so I won’t. I will say I am excited to have fireplace season back upon us, Scottie made me two gorgeous fires this weekend and I have relished both of them. Plus it makes the early-holiday-decorations that much more festive.
Linus loves both the fireplace and the trees (thank goodness for fireplace screens, that thing will save that child’s life this winter). He claps very energetically and squeals “YAY!” for our Christmas trees. This should be an entertaining holiday season.

Let’s see, this week: we had more appointments (no one is seriously ill I swear, we are just blessed with lots and lots of appointments), Linus got a wicked cold and missed a day of daycare, and Pete and Dad had a Guys Night on Friday where they had dinner out and hit up a MadCap game. Pete wanted cotton candy but they didn’t have it so he had to settle for popcorn. This is the only real factoid I have gotten out of him, so I guess otherwise the guys night went okay.
That’s really all I have to share, really. Other than the fact that Pete’s school is requiring snowpants for their field trip downtown tomorrow and we had flaked on getting him a pair yet (I swore I have some from last year he can re-use but I cannot find them), so my poor dear long-suffering husband drove all over town to hunt down a pair of snow bibs. Which he finally found at the Target on the East side, PRAISE THE LORD. Now I won’t be in trouble with Pete’s teacher tomorrow.
Enjoy a few pictures of the boys. Linus learned to get into one of the chairs, it’s a Big Deal to him so he does it about 87 times per day and usually claps for himself once he gets in there. His method is somewhat entertaining, much leg-swinging and heaving of his big meatloaf-y body into the thing. Pete, for his set, is eating a corndog for lunch. Yeah I dunno he just said to take a picture so I did.

Here are a few more normal-y ones. Because I am nice. So have a good week, all my friends. Stay warm, lots of hot chocolate and coffee and warm quilts and lovely fires. We’ll see you again in a week-ish.
