In a mild surprise, Linfield takes set one and leads in set two. And, I jinxed Linfield as Willamette comes back and evens things up. Going 5-sets…I just know it.

Random Thoughts: Today’s cover photo is Linfield’s senor outside Regan Dean.

Two warmup matches against non-DIII teams in preparation of SCAC play. The other match is the first NWC (for real) conference match of the season. Linfield has been an interesting story so far and this will be a very interesting test for them. By all accounts Willamette should win this in 3 or 4 sets. Because it’s the late match on the West Coast, it will go 5-sets. As far as who wins, I think Willamette but Linfield is a lot stronger than anyone probably thought they would be. As far as Points/Set, Linfield is at 15.41 and Willamette is at 13.74. I think it’s competition based a bit but maybe Linfield is for real.
