Waltz with Bashir (2008)

Director: Ari Folman

An Israeli film director interviews fellow veterans of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon to reconstruct his own memories of his term of service in that conflict.

Wow, where do I begin with how AWESOME this was? This is the first documentary style animated film I’ve seen, and I found it incredibly captivating, and even suspenseful at times. I thought the animation and music was great! This was also an interesting action adventure mystery, but nothing could prepare me for the heart wrenching ending. I absolutely loved this film!

The film received over 100 award nominations including an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. It eventually won 44 awards, and was also a big box office success, earning over $11 million on a $2 million budget.
