Wagamama Annual Party 2015

It was that time again: the annual Wagamama party.  It started the whole performance analysis journey for me (read about the 2014 and 2013 Wagamama party).  I had a decent night too.  I worked that night, the staff met up at the restaurant when it closed, we all went to the pub beforehand, I got to know some of my colleagues a bit better and then we all went to the Ministry of Sound for the actual party where I got to see some old colleagues that I haven’t seen in years.  It capped off a nice weekend too.  On Friday, a lucky set of circumstances meant I was able to visit some camp counsellor friends that I haven’t seen in over seven years.  On Saturday, Polonia won their match against Swiss Cottage, we went for leaving drinks as one of our players was going back to France and then we went to a friend’s birthday party.  On Sunday, my shift at Wagamama got cancelled so I was able to rest up and stat Saturday’s match.  Check out the photos below.

The annual Wagamama party is also a time when I reflect on where I am at with performance analysis.  I did give myself until last September to find something and I didn’t quite achieve it.  I did get myself a volleyball coaching job at Dynamo Daredevils and a few job interviews that didn’t pan out, including an internship at Millwall FC (lack of football knowledge).  I learning that there isn’t many performance analysis jobs out there and of the few that there are, there isn’t any in the sport I have most knowledge in, i.e. volleyball.  For this reason, I have expanded the job search to include jobs that is broadly in my area of expertise while keeping an eye out for volleyball performance analysis jobs.  I got a bit lazy towards the end of last year but now I have to buckle down, look for jobs and hopefully something will pan out for .
