The NHL season started last night. Eyes had to be on the newest addition to the NHL the Utah Hockey Club. They played the Blackhawks in their first ever regular season game. It was also a home game.

Dylan Guenther led the way with a pair of goals, including the first in franchise history, while Barrett Hayton had a goal and an assist. Connor Ingram made 24 saves in a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks. Clyton Keller also scored while both Nick Schmaltz and Logan Cooley added a pair of assists in the win.

After picking up their first win they next play the New York Islanders tomorrow in their first road game of the year.

Yet for now it’s good to see the Utah Hockey Club start out on the right foot.
