Two Important Munchkin Related Developments

OMG! So….um, I can now say I did a project with Mr. Mandy Patinkin. I just had the thrilling experience of hearing him say my name in that Mandy Patinkin voice. A podcast I recorded many months ago dropped two months back and I had no idea! And I totally could have used the morale boost last July (in the void between Marxfest and the fall events that are just kicking in now.) Anyway the show is about Jackie Gerlich, one of the Little People from The Wizard of Oz, (indeed, one of the Lollipop Guild trio), who also as it happens narrowly escaped the Holocaust thanks to being part of Leo Singer’s troupe. Anyway, man, is there a spring in my step today! Listen to the episode, which is part of the show Exile, a production of the Leo Baeck Institute, New York and Antica Productions, here.

ALSO! On a similar note, this is a heads up that I’ll be speaking on a related topic, Rose’s Royal Midgets, at Atomic Books in Baltimore on October 26. It’s obviously to do with the book on said topic which I worked on with Jim Moore of Vaudevisuals.com along with Shocked and Amazed’s James Taylor, both of whom will be on site as well. More info on that to follow, but just wanted to let you know it was afoot, especially you folks who are within hailing distance of Bal’mer.

Where would we be without Little People? Me, nowhere, obviously!
