Tuesday, Sept 19 Match Day!

Updates: I decided to give you a Decker update in addition to volleyball. He’s 4 week old as of yesterday. Still being bottle fed. Still figuring out a litter box. My other cat, Dany, is still trying to figure out Decker.

ETBU drops the first set but wins in four.

Dallas and HPU going to a fifth.

Dallas needed the reverse sweep and 19 points in the 5th set to pull out the win.

Oxy losing to West Coast Baptist isn’t on my bingo card. WCB takes the first set and even in the second.

Redlands putting up a fight but lost a close set one.

Another nice broadcast, this time by Redlands. It’s kind of funny Redlands can do this for a league match but CMS typically doesn’t.

CLU is going to win this match but the CLU setter did something interesting. Two straight free balls. First attack by CLU was to push the ball on second contact to the back row. Second was a set to the back row. Neither effective. Can’t believe those are your best options in that situation.

Announcer, “This gym use to have an air conditioner that would drop air on to the court. That system is no longer outside.” What did this mean? That the A/C is broken? Stolen? Moved inside and no one realized it wouldn’t work now?

Other than the random A/C news, I really like the voice, tone, excitement from this announcer. Seems to know his stuff.

Cal Lutheran leads the SCIAC as they sweep Redlands.

Random Thoughts: A mixed bag today. We’ve got a rivalry match in the ASC, some SCAC/ASC action, some non-DIII action and a SCIAC match.

ETBU should be able to handle LETU the way they have been playing of late but if any kind of emotion flows into LETU and they sniff an upset then all heck could break out.

Schreiner should be able to handle McMurry, which is something I’ve never written before.

Dallas is probably the favorite at Howard Payne but it’s super close. I might take HPU depending on what Vegas has the line set at.

Cal Lutheran should be able to handle Redlands but Cal Lu is not last year’s Cal Lu. For that matter, Redlands is not last year’s Redlands.
