Tuesday, Sep. 7 Match Day!

Updates: Ugh. Volleyball with no sound. I’m fine with no announcers but let’s have the sound from the match, please.

UMHB with the first quarter set win 25-19. High attacking error game for both sides so far. Frasca with 6 kills already for the Cru.

Sul Ross State’s Annika Canaba just brings the power on her shots out of the middle. Cru up 2-0 with a 25-20 win in set 2.

UMHB gets the sweep. They had three players (Williams, Frasca and Janikula) with double-digit kills. Taryn Griner had 11 kills for Sul Ross State.

Howard Payne wins the first set but McMurry takes the next three for the match win. Kaylie Vasil had 15 digs for the War Hawks.

Close match between Grambling and Centenary with the Ladies losing 3-1. The Ladies were led by Jaylin St. Martin with 13 kills on 0.462 hitting.

Both Caltech and Linfield look like they want to keep me up late tonight. Linfield tied 1-1. Caltech down 0-2 but winning the third.

Both matches go 5-sets because that’s what the late games do.

Caltech loses. Dallas Taylor with 17 kills and hits 0.500.

Linfield wins. Aylea Dixon with 53 assists in this one.

Stole this from Ricky but here are the National matches not involving West Region teams:

#11 Transylvania beat Centre #19 BSC/Huntingdon (No longer ranked) #21 Bowdoin beat Southern Maine #22 Otterbein/Denison (No longer ranked) #23 Tufts/Roger Williams (No longer ranked) #19 Whitewater beat Elmhurst

Oddly, 5 of those 6 ranked teams are not in my Top 25.

Random Thoughts: Looks like the C-Word has taken down the Dallas/LeTourneau match scheduled for today. Positive thoughts to all impacted!!!!

Centenary and Grambling resume their yearly series. Grambling is a DI school but these matches are often very competitive.

The ASC has a couple of conference matches with Mary Hardin-Baylor travelling to Sul Ross State and Howard Payne playing their first match of the season against McMurry.
