Tuesday, October 10 Match Day

Update: UTD repaid ETBU for their earlier loss. They definitely had this match circled on the calendar. I’m a little surprised Concordia won so easily over Hardin-Simmons.

Good to see Kylie Cooke back on the floor for Chapman. La Verne is taking care of Cal Lu early.

Whittier with a nice win coming back from a first set loss. Looks like I jinxed La Verne as the Regals force a 5th set. Occidental/Pomona also going 5.

*Non VB Note* I’m a huge soccer fan (Go QPR!) and I’m in disbelief that the USMNT lost tonight and have been eliminated from the World Cup. Just crazy that it could happen to us in a rather weak federation. I’m in shock.

Random Thoughts: Second half of the SCIAC gets underway today and there is just no room for error as each match is important. Chapman and Whittier are playing for seeding and regional rankings. Chapman swept the Poets at home last time. CMS should be able to beat the Redlands away but this match is basically do or die for the Bulldogs. Lose and any hope of a conference tournament berth is gone. La Verne barely beat Cal Lu in 5 sets at home and are struggling right now. With regional rankings coming out next week, it’s important to win this one. Pomona and Occidental are in the bottom half of the teams trying to secure a conference tournament position. Pomona really needs this one but so does Occidental.
