Tuesday, Oct. 12 Match Day!
Updates: LETU and HSU have split the first two.
LETU wins 4. Their hopes for the second seed is alive and well. HSU made things harder to stay in the Top 6.
Carthage is absolutely destroying Chicago right now.
Carthage with the sweep. Teaches me to rank Chicago.
CMS won set one. Whittier won set one. Caltech won set one. Oxy won set one. The Whittier and Oxy lead are surprising.
Whittier wins the second set. If the Poets win that puts Chapman at 6-3 and Whittier at 5-4. Cal Lu is struggling with Oxy and a loss there puts them at 5-4. That would all be very messy.
Cal Lu and Whittier up 2-1. CLU still has one point to score but they will. Late night.
Big win for Whittier.
Nationally ranked matches not involving the West Region:
#13 Emory beat #15 Berry Carthage upsets #18 Chicago#19 MIT beat Clark #24 Tufts beat Bowdoin Hey Ned!
Random Thoughts: The cover photo is CMS senior outside Jackie Jones. My apologies for including the guy on the right side of the picture.
Weird slate of Tuesday matches. Only one ASC match going on with only the SCIAC in full conference play.
The ASC match is a big one as we have the number 3 team and the number 6 teams in the conference. Both want to stay in the Top 6 so really important for both.
CMS has been on cruise control so I don’t think La Verne challenges them.
Whittier/Chapman is probably the match of the day. Whittier is sitting 5th just outside the Top 4, which is needed to play in their tournament. Chapman sits second and would like a first round home game.
If Redlands are going to win a conference match then this might have to be the one. Caltech won the previous meeting.
