Trubisky Released

The Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing quarterback Mitchell Trubisky after two seasons with the team.

Trubisky didn’t quite make the impact people thought he would. He went 2-5 in 12 appearances while throwing for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions for a rating of 77.6. He becomes a free agent.

Offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor, a former third draft pick and punter Pressley Harvin III, were also released today. The moves look to be for salary cap reasons saving the Steelers about $13 Million in cap space.

Word is also being reported that Mason Rudolph will seek a new team, leaving Kenny Pickett as the only quarterback on the depth chart for the time being.
