The MLB announced their gold glove winners for this year. Pittsburgh Pirates utility player Jared Triolo was named one of the winners.

Triolo was the winner for utility players in the National League. He won the award over finalists Brendan Donovan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kiké Hernández of the world series champion Las Angeles Dodgers. This Triolo’s first gold glove award in his career in the majors. He won a gold glove award in 2021 with the MILB Greensboro Grasshoppers.

He was actually one of 14 players, who won their first gold glove award this season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had a gold glove winner in 2023 when Ke ‘Bryan Hayes won at third base in 2023. The last Pirate to win the award prior to that was catcher Jacob Stallings in 2021.

Good to see Triolo honored for his defensive play and versatility. It’s a well earned award.

Additionally, Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds was named as a finalist for the Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger award at the utility position. Can he take home the prize?
