A fashion model celebrity couple join an eventful cruise for the super-rich.

Ok, please allow me to say this: what the fu*king hell was this???! Note, there are spoilers here, so if you intend watching the movie (DON’T!!!!), then stop reading.

‘Triangle of Sadness’ is one of the least enjoyable movies I’ve seen lately. This 147 minute long film could just as well have worked as a 27 minute short. Man, every scene drags to absolute boredom! So many scenes should rather have been on the cutting room floor instead of in the final film. I mean, jeez!!

The film plays in three parts. Part 1: Carl & Yaya. These two characters are both models and they are dating, but they are the most annoying characters! The film spends 15 minutes showing them arguing over paying a restaurant bill!!! After these pointless 15 minutes, we go to Part 2: They Yacht. I’ll admit, the luxurious yacht is stunning. But hell, what an absolute bore fest. I’ve cruised many times before and watching the film was like sitting on a deck (or restaurant) chair watching the guests. No one contributed much to the film and would have worked without any of them.

During the first hour of the film, there’s nothing of interested happening. NOTHING!! It’s just guests taking pictures, uninteresting chatter, taking more pictures, and more uninteresting chatter…. And this goes on for about half an hour. We have Carl and Yaya being insanely jealous of each other and (as usual) arguing about trivial things. Guests complaining about a shirtless crew member, and dirty sails – when there aren’t even any sails! What the hell was this actually about???

We spend about 10 minutes watching guests being served pretentious gourmet meals, and eating. Then we have to endure about 12 minutes or so watching guests vomit in the most disgusting manner!! Well, hell, that was unpleasant, to say the least!! After a storm – which happened to be the most interesting 5 minutes of the film – we head to Part 3: The Island.

Part 3 felt like watching ‘Lost’ Season 27!! More uninteresting, repetitive chatter as we watch a handful of the guests stranded on an island. And yes, I’m going to tell you the ending – so stop reading if you still plan on watching this terrible film. Two of the guests discover they’ve been stranded near a luxury resort all along, and this is how the film abruptly ends. Ughhh!!! What an absolute waste of time. I hated every moment of this tedious, atrocious film. ‘Triangle of Sadness’ along with ‘The Menu’ of the same year are among the worst and most pointless films I’ve seen lately.

Beyond comprehension, ‘Triangle of Sadness’ received 83 award nominations, winning 20 so far. It received 3 Oscar nominations (Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Directing) – pending still at this stage.

Would I watch it again? NO!!
