Looking back on the memories And the way we used to live I remember that old sign to London By the river ‘cross from the bridge At seven the bell used to ring From up on the hill We’ve moved on from yesterday Time back then stood still Call to the children come in They would relentlessly sin The baby that cried Would be masked by the wind And you’d open your arms And hold me close in And we thought and we thought With our love and own piece of mind And we fought and we fought We didn’t understand But the tree wasn’t blind Movin’ on from yesterday Let it pass you by But the tree knows everything Movin’ on from yesterday Gonna let you go n pass you by But the tree knows everything Knows everything Looking back on the memories And the way we used to live I remember that old sign to London By the river ‘cross from the bridge At seven the lights would go out Down at the mill We’ve moved on from yesterday Time back then stood still Call to the children come in They would relentlessly sin That baby that cried Would be masked By the wind And you’d open your arms And hold me close in And we thought and we thought With our love and own piece of mind And we fought and we fought We didn’t understand But the tree wasn’t blind Movin’ on from yesterday Let it pass you by But the tree knows everything Movin’ on from yesterday Gonna let you go n pass you by But the tree knows everything Knows everything And we fought and we fought And we fought and we fought And we fought and we fought And we fought and we fought We’ve moved on from yesterday …but the tree wasn’t blind
