The Monday feature of the Worldly Saints blog focuses on a story from the sports world – current or historic. The point is to recognize athletes who are using their sports and athletic abilities to further the kingdom of God or to show how some athletes are wasting their days by not giving God the glory.

I am sure some of you are going to think I am totally shallow for not posting anything overtly spiritual today, but with the wet weather we are having on this gloomy Monday in Wichita, KS I thought I would keep to the sports theme and some humorous quotes about baseball or from baseballers. Here are my Top 10:

1. Ninety percent of this game is half mental. — Yogi Berra 2. We know we’re better than this, but we can’t prove it. — Tony Gwynn 3. The way to catch a knuckleball is to wait until the ball stops rolling and then to pick it up. — Bob Uecker 4. I’d be willing to bet you, if I was a betting man, that I have never bet on baseball. — Pete Rose 5.
