TOMAHAWK – Captain Midnight / Point & Click (live)

Tomahawk is an American rock supergroup. They formed in 1999 when singer/keyboardist Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) met guitar player Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard) and the pair started swapping tapes with the intention of collaborating. Denison then recruited drummer John Stanier (Helmet), while Patton invited bass player Kevin Rutmanis (Melvins/ex-Cows). The group recorded three albums and toured extensively from 2000–2007 then went on extended hiatus, and reformed in 2013 with Trevor Dunn replacing Rutmanis.

“Captain Goodnight” is taken from Tomahawk’s second studio album, Mit Gas (2003). Live @ Arsenal Wroclaw (22.07.2013)

“Point and Click”, live @ Paradiso, Amsterdam (27/08/13)

CAPTAIN GOODNIGHT

[Verse 1] Wake up Our past stops right now I see light, must be you Watch and learn Burning it blue Blood boiling In slow motion Only shines Distortion Don’t be afraid

[Chorus] What? Are you surprised? I’m staying alive I spit in your eye, drive a stake in you Take me away, take me away I gave you the world, it was all for you But I’m sick and tired of wasting time I want mine Take me away, take me away I gave you the world, it was all for you Stinking lies, stinking lies, stinking lies

[Verse 2] We’ll die trying to live so long I can wait, and I should Leave the phone of the hook Don’t be afraid (x3)

POINT & CLICK

Them scumbags Them faghags Short eyes Dope dealers

Drive-bys Faith healers I’ll be there Far away

I’m floating above it all Be there I’ll be there far away I’ll be there for you

I’ll prove the holy road leads to The snake charmers The shoe hangers I’ll show you Sunday strollers too

The gangbangers Spirit channelers I want to be the one for you I’ll be the one

I bought a gun I want to be the crowning jewel To bad they won’t believe me son I’ll be there floating above it all

I’ll be there flaming Waiting for you
