Updates: The NPI Rankings have been updated through yesterday’s matches.
I also dropped an article today if you missed it.
Warren Wilson won the first set but JWU has taken the next two. JWU should take this in four.
Nationally, Carnegie Mellon sweeps Mount Aloysius. Not a bad opponent. Lasell moves to 9-1. Juniata and F&M are tied at 23 in set one.
JWU does win in four. Taylor Green with 10 kills, 2 aces and 2 block solos.
F&M can’t take that first set and then lose the next two in easy fashion. Another good win for JC.
Austin with an easy set one win. Interestingly, Dallas started the season with 16 on the roster but only list 14 now. Only 10 are listed for the match tonight. It’s going to be a tough season for them and a couple of years before the new coach can get things the way she wants them.
Austin College is going to get the sweep tonight. I’m logging it. They are using their bench and have a lot of players they can use. Dallas still fighting but just out classed right now.
National Games to Watch:
6 pmJuniata at Franklin & Marshall – F&M has been ranked by me but finally got dropped when they failed to win their bigger matches. This puts them back in consideration with a win.
West Schedule:
Random Thoughts:
Just two matches in the West. We have a C2C matchup that doesn’t count for conference our in the DIII standings as JWU is transitioning to our division. We also have a SCAC Blue match that should go Austin’s way. It feels like Dallas has already played a ton of matches this season for some reason.
Nationally, a game I didn’t list is Principia at Knox. Principia ended their season early last season (too few players) and this year they play a mix of JV and “varsity” matches. The NCAA database shows them with three DIII matches this season in Knox, Blackburn and Eureka. They play out of the SLIAC but don’t play a full conference schedule. A little weird. This season they have 9 on their roster.
