Updates: NPI Rankings have been updated through yesterday. I also did a short Fun With Numbers article. I should be able to catch the first set of the Hope/CMU match.
Lauren Lee (Hope) is still good. She doesn’t have the same level of hitters but still fun to watch her run the offense. After I wrote that, Hope just pounded the ball from the middle and then the outside.
Whoa. A behind kicking for CMU as Hope takes the first set 25-16. Hope hit 0.367 with just two attack errors. Speaking of behind kicking, Salem takes the first set from Warren Wilson 25-5. Yikes.
Another clean set for Hope as they go up 2-0. Not enough fire power from CMU in this one. Credit the defense of Hope. This is going to really mess up my rankings.
Didn’t see the final set but Hope gets the sweep. Schedule tough and get some wins is one way to beat NPI.
Salem beats Warren Wilson 5, 12 and 8.
Caltech also won tonight in a sweep. The best part of this match is that they left the camera streaming after the match so you can see everyone just using the gym afterwards. Playing basketball and the sort. It’s like a reality show.
Big day tomorrow. See you then.
National Games to Watch:
West Schedule:
Warren Wilson 0 Salem 3Caltech 3 West Coast Baptist 0
Random Thoughts:
The thing about Hope is that they have a tough schedule. So, if they can just win a couple of these tougher matches, they may be alright. Still, you have to like CMU at home. The thing is you just can’t give Hope…hope. (Yeah, I use that a lot but it’s so true with this team.)
Not much to see in our neck of the woods. West Coast Baptist is a non-DIII team. Typically…a really bad team.
