Thursday, Nov. 7 Match Day!

Update:  In the UTD house. In the very cold house. Concordia/McMurry first up for the West.

Close first set. McGowan playing right side for McMurry and Concordia in a 5-1. Hardest thing for me is the scoreboard is mixed up. Player stats listed for the other team.

Let’s see. McMurry can’t take a set off of Concordia in two tries this season but takes the first here 25-23.

Concordia ties it up. Lot of power on display in this one. Concordia now up 2-1.

Concordia with a big set four win and they take the match 3-1. They get UTD tomorrow.

LETU playing inspired ball and take the first set 25-17.

Role reversal in set two as it’s all tied up. It’s been Anderson and Currington for HSU but Anderson hurt her leg on her last kill.

Anderson and her 11 kills are in set 3.

LETU now up 2-1 after an easy set 3 win. Kianna Crow had 7 kills in that set.

Trinity Anderson leads a comeback for HSU but subs off at 19-20. She didn’t make it back on the court as LETU wins set four 25-22. Anderson led all players with 19 kills.

In the SCIAC, the two lower seeds won the first set but CMS has come back to win their match 3-1 over La Verne. Chapman won the second match against Cal Lutheran but trail 2-1. Chapman does have a big lead in set 4.

Chapman wins the 4th set and we are going to a fifth. The winner will travel to CMS for the SCIAC final.

Wow. Chapman wins the fifth set when Cal Lutheran swaps liberos but the player goes into the wrong spot and is called for out-of-rotation. They were up by 6 so it wasn’t going to matter (probably). Chapman will play CMS for the SCIAC title on Saturday.

Cal Lutheran at Chapman

Random Thoughts:  Tournament links are provided in the name, when available.

I think I’ll try to get over to UTD for the matches today. I’m pretty sure I’ll be the only one in a yellow Southwestern hat. By the way, I will root for whatever team bribes me the most.

Tournament Time!!!!! I think Concordia should beat McMurry based on past results this season. The LETU/HSU match is a tough one. LeTourneau won the previous meeting but give me HSU in 5-sets in this one. Just a guess.

I picked CMS and Cal Lutheran in my conference preview so I’ll stick with that tonight.
