I think the SCIAC may drop their predictions tomorrow. The NWC and SCAC will probably be next week.

The SCAC still hasn’t updated their schedule link. I’m still trying to figure out how to present all of the West Region matches on this site. It gets easier when we go to conference play. It’s a nightmare for the first 2+ weeks.

This is the first year where I’m really watching to see who doesn’t come back to their teams. I’ve already mentioned Southwestern didn’t list Megan Grimes and TLU didn’t list Makenzie Griffin or Hannah Mikelonis. These are HUGE losses but we’ve got another one. UT-Dallas is no longer listing Alana Geymer on the roster. She was a freshman right side that was pure joy to watch (I got to see her at the Southwestern Regionals). She made the ASC All-Tournament team and had a bright future. UT-Dallas has a lot coming back so they should be fine but just hate to see this.

Cal Lutheran has announced their full list of recruits and they have been added to the Recruits Page. I found about half of them before the announcement. Yeah me!

As you know, the AVCA has come out with their preseason poll. What you may not realize is that they also put out a preseason bio on the top teams nationally. You can find that here. (Now, I don’t know how they determine “top teams”. Maybe it’s whatever coach returns the information. I just know Whittier is not represented but other SCIAC schools are.)

What I find interesting is the section on “Top Newcomers”, which gives you a little insight into whom the coaches think may be their best recruits. Fun fact: It looks like UT-Dallas is listed twice because the AVCA couldn’t figure out how to name them.

15 days until matches with teams reporting this week. Lots of work over the next two weeks. Lots of fun but also some doubts and some down moments. Always remember there are people (like me) that would love to have this experience. Push through and just be awesome!
