The Trojan Network
“You go to USC? You’re hired!” Or so reads the oft-quoted, if mildly hyperbolic, catch-phrase commonly attributed to employers in Southern California, along with a number of other locales in any of the 90 countries USC alums call home—all 355,641 of them. Many would say this statement represents a single aspect of something called the Trojan Family, or more commonly the Trojan network. Either way, it is reflective of the attitude that USC alumni and students have toward other USC alumni and students. That attitude can be best summed up as: “Trojans take care of Trojans,” and it manifests itself in a variety of ways, including job opportunities through ConnectSC’s Trojans Hiring Trojans initiative, mentorship opportunities like our Annenberg Advantage Program, and any of our geographically diverse alumni associations.
Apart from its more abstract connotations as an attitude or lifestyle, there actually does exist a very literal network of Trojans who help other Trojans. It’s called the Career Network, and can be accessed by any student through ConnectSC. Essentially, USC alums offer their expertise in various “industries, organizations and other career and graduate school related subjects” to help guide students and connect them with fellow Trojans around the world. For more information on this service, you can visit the ConnectSC website either by logging in through myUSC or going to the Career Center’s website.
