THE SUNSHINERS – Modern Love (David Bowie)

The Sunshiners, a reggae band from Vanuatu, released a distinctive reggae rendition of David Bowie’s “Modern Love” in 2006. This cover was part of their self-titled debut album, where they reimagined various 1980s pop and rock classics through a reggae lens. Their version of “Modern Love” transforms Bowie’s energetic track into a laid-back, tropical groove, showcasing the band’s unique style and cultural background.

The Sunshiners’ approach to covering “Modern Love” exemplifies their ability to infuse familiar songs with fresh rhythms and island vibes, offering listeners a new perspective on well-known hits. This creative reinterpretation has been appreciated by fans who enjoy genre-blending music that bridges different musical traditions.
