Director: Amy Jones

Starring: Michelle Michaels, Robin Stille, Michael Villella

A high school student’s slumber party turns terrifying as an escaped mental patient with a drill decides to crash the evening.

How this atrocious film became such a big success, is completely beyond comprehension. Where do I even start with how bad it was?

Already from the title – and being an 80s slasher film – I knew there would be boobs. And I was right. Not even 3 minutes into the film and already the boobs popped out, and ass, as it turns out. Boy, this film seriously enjoyed focusing on ass and tits (pardon me for putting it so bluntly, but it was in your face!). I firmly believe they wanted to make a porn movie and then decided to go with the current flow instead and make a slasher movie.

There’s no story here. The killer, Russ, has no back story and is an idiotic character, very badly portrayed by Michael Villela. There is no explanation for his actions or how he chooses his victims. The girls are equally bad and nothing they do or say is interesting. There are also way too many jump scares with characters appearing all over the place just for the sake of making a scare work.

The film has no emotion, with an excruciatingly bad script. One of the girls actually gets hungry (!!) while they’re being stalked and after some of her friends have been killed. She then takes a pizza out from under the dead pizza delivery guy and casually eats it!!!! And then says “See, I feel better already.” SERIOUSLY!!!!???

‘The Slumber Party Massacre’ gives new meaning to MINDLESS. I couldn’t wait for this terrible film to end. This was forgettable. (Oh, please, let me forget this, please, please!!)

The film was a box office success, earning $3.6 million on a tiny $220,000 budget. It also spawned two sequels. How in the world….???

Would I watch it again? Absolutely not.
