THE LOST FINGERS – Christmas Caravan

The Lost Fingers are a Canadian gypsy jazz music group from Quebec City. The group was formed in 2006 by Alex Morissette (backing vocals, double bass), Byron “Maiden” Mikaloff (vocals, guitar) and Christian Roberge (vocals, guitar). In 2014, after the departure of Roberge, two new members joined the group: François Rioux (guitar) and Valérie Amyot (vocals). The band’s name was inspired by the genre’s founder, gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, who lost the use of two fingers in a fire.

Its that time of year Full of cheer When spirits come alive

Wanderers are on the rode They jive up that drive Setting up on riverside Somewhere outside of town

People are so curious They start to gather round Let’s pump up the jam On this Christmas caravan

Tell me, tell me What is that you see In that shiney sphere A world of festive mystery The Christmas caravan

Hear the sound of violins Crying in the night Flames will dance with moonlight On the Christmas caravan

Guitars are pumpin’ People jumpin’ By the fireside

Jangles, ghosts, Finger rides the chromatic slide Full moon has come out to play Up in the cedar in the sky

A crystal ball Some alcohol Let’s get mystified And pump up the jam On this Christmas caravan

Tell me, tell me What is that you see In that shiny sphere A world of festive mystery The Christmas caravan

Hear the sound of violins Crying in the night Flames will dance with moonlight On the Christmas caravan On the Christmas caravan
