The Language Center
Regardless if you’re taking classes for a language as a requirement or for fun, it is important to utilize the services offered by the Language Center. The Language Center is located in Taper Hall of Humanities (THH) in room 309. USC offers the following language courses: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. For each of these areas of study, opportunities are provided for students to become engaged in the languages, as well as their respective cultures. The Language Center is the place to contact for placement exams and D-clearance for language courses, but it is also a place to improve language studies. The highlight of the Language Center is the Fletcher Jones Language Commons, which houses multimedia work and viewing stations. There are also conversation rooms for students to engage in independent study, group study or one-on-one sessions with faculty by reservation. For more information on how to reserve rooms or other services offered within the Language Center, be sure to visit their website.
