The Kurt Vonnegut Centennial

Nov 11, 2022
1 min read

Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007) would have been 100 years old today, but of course that wasn’t about to happen after all those Pall Malls. As a result of some kind of cosmic joke, Vonnegut’s birthday coincided with Veteran’s Day. This famous veteran of World War Two and anti-war activist had to have his birthday ruined every year by the glorification of militarism. It must have given him a grim chuckle.

Anyway, there are multiple ways to observe this benchmark, and I’ll link you to them:

Join my friend Ayun Holliday at the New York Society Library where she is conducting a Kurt Vonnegut Fanzine Workshop from 11am to 4:45pm

Check out the website of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library in the author’s hometown of Indianapolis. They have announced a VonnegutFest2022, so go there to stay on top of what they’ve got planned.

And course:

Read, read, read!
