After the son of engineer Bill Markham is abducted by an aboriginal tribe on the edge of the rain forest, the engineer spends the next 10 years searching for him.

Yawn, is it over yet? That’s what I was mostly thinking during this film.

The first few minutes were more interesting than the entire film, and perhaps the bit of action during the final act. I had no interest in the tribe’s rituals, which seemed to take up most of the screen time. None of the characters were interesting. For most part, I had absolutely no idea what they were doing, thinking or hoping for. My only interest was seeing how this tedious film would end.

The acting was ok to bad, and the visuals (towards the end) were mediocre. I also didn’t understand Bill (Powers Boothe)’s actions at the end, which didn’t make much sense. It would have had no impact on events anyway, so why? The film then also ends on a dissatisfying note. Ultimately, it was just not worth sitting through.

Would I watch it again? No.
