The Duchess, whom I’ve sometimes referred to as a Countess or a Marchioness (I’m unclear as to her exact rank, but she’s definitely a decadent aristocrat of some sort) was the guest on the Scare U podcast this week, brainchild of Messers Bradford Louryk and Eric Winick. Their topic: the stylish and erotic 1971 vampire film Daughters of Darkness starring Delphine Seyrig as a fictionalized version of the blood drinking Countess Bathory. It takes a Countess to know a Countess! She nailed it, of course. It’s a favorite movie of hers. And I’m especially impressed by her performance on this podcast because I know the kind of day she was having right up until the time she recorded the interview. (I know this because she’s my wife). Check out this terrific show here, and later I hope it will inspire you to investigate this spooky and gorgeous movie.
