Director: Brad Anderson

Starring: Halle Berry, Abigail Breslin, Michael Eklund

When a veteran 911 operator takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl who has just been abducted, she realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl’s life.

‘The Call’ is a thrill-a-minute, edge of your seat thriller that never allows the viewer the chance to catch his breath.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a film that offers suspense during almost every scene. ‘The Call’ does just that. The film also gives us a good insight into 911 operations. Halle Berry stars as 911 operator, Jordan. Having made a mistake that (indirectly) lead to the death of a teenage girl, Jordan now teaches new operators. Still trying to come to terms with what happened, the next call she takes would change her life. Berry gives an unforgettable performance as Jordan.

Abigail Breslin stars as a young girl, Casey, who is abducted by Michael Foster (Michael Eklund). Michael never anticipated the abduction to spin out of control as quickly and as badly as it does. Both actors give incredible performances. ‘The Call’ is a tense action thriller that takes the viewer on a wild ride of fear, and determination. The sound effects are excellent. The film is fast paced and never wastes a minute. The dialogue is fast and pertinent.

The final act is nail-biting suspense all the way, and I guarantee you will love the ending as much as I did!! This was stunning!

‘The Call’ was a box office success, earning $68.5 million on a $13 million budget. It received nominations for Best Thriller Film and Best Actress.

Would I watch it again? Yes.
