THE BLACK CROWES – Remedy (live) | Freak ‘n’ Roll… Into the Fog (2005)
The Black Crowes’ performance of “Remedy” in Freak ‘n’ Roll… Into the Fog is an intense and soulful rendition of their iconic song, taken from their album The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion (1992). “Remedy” features the band’s signature blend of Southern rock, blues, and soul (all the more with a backing choir of black female voices). Black music made by white folks. In this live performance, their energy and musicianship shine, capturing the raw, jam-band feel they’re known for. The Freak ‘n’ Roll… Into the Fog concert was recorded at San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium in 2005. It’s a perfect showcase of the band’s chemistry and soulfulness.
Baby, baby, why can’t you sit still? Who killed that bird out on your window sill? Are you the reason that he broke his back? Tell me, did I see you laugh about that? If I come on like a dream? Will you let me show you what I mean? Will you let me come on inside? Will you let it glide?
Can I have some remedy? All I want is a remedy. Remedy for me please. Cause if I had some remedy I’d take enough to please me.
Baby, baby, why you dye your hair? Why you always keeping with your mother’s dare? So, baby why who’s who, who know you, too? Did the other children scold on you? If I come on like a dream? Will you let me show you what I mean? Will you let me come on inside? Will you let it slide?
