The Best And The Rest 54

Everyday we make a choice.  From something so mundane that we don’t even realize that we’re making a choice (like choosing Spenda or Equal in our coffee), or something that life-changing that feels like a drill to an exposed nerve (like staying or leaving a difficult relationship).

May 1, 2008 → The Top Ten Tough Choices

  1. Jan – I am 25 years old.  How do I tell my family that the man I recently married is also married to a gay man…somewhere outside the country.

  2. Maricel – I’m in my early 30s: smart and gorgeous, but still single. I’m torn between marryng my rich gay bestfrend who adores me, or wait for my suitor to get an annulment.

  3. Venti – Mahirap magpaliwanag or magsabi ng totoo sa taong ayaw maniwala s iyo.

  4. Thoryan – I’m not the real son of my parents right now and sometimes my mother asks me if I’d like to go and find my real parents just to see them.

  5. Thoryan – Choosing if I should have sex finally, even just once…or not. They’ve been calling me gay because of that.

  6. Dongster – Everyday I make a difficult decision on what food to eat because I have hypertension and I’m almost diabetic.

  7. Bards – My wife earns a lot more than I do, hence she got to pay majority of our family expenses including some luxuries. This puts me in agony and I surrendered some of the major decisions like the design of our house, choice of school for the kids, etc. A few weeks ago, a friend who knows my situation is offering me a job in the States that will pay me a respectable amount. Taking this job will mean being away from my family for years. This is a dilemma.

  8. Marchiechay – Should I go back to church (born again) & break my (Catholic) parents’ heart or not? Who should obey, God or my mom?

  9. Fiona – It’s difficult to tell my fiance…that I wanted to postpone the wedding, just because I still need another year of being single and wanted some time away from him. I feel it’s the best way to confirm if I really want to spend the rest of my life with him.

  10. V54 – I can’t decide – a date with my girl (50 transpo, 315 short time, 200 meal; total = 565) or self-help (koryente lang gastos and a porn DVD).

  11. Draco’s Biatch – To choose between being the cool & smart but lonely girl who never conformed, or be the NORMAL & stupid girl who took the chance & had a lovelife & sexlife.

  12. No name – It’s tough whether to stay with a guy who’s not married but has a child or with a guy who’s married but childless.

  13. No name – As a single mom & working in shifts at a hospital, it’s always difficult to choose between my son, when he’s sick, & and the call of duty. It pains me to do my job taking care of other people when I can’t even be there for my sick son. If only things aren’t financially hard for us, I’d choose a job where I can have more flexible time to spend with my son.

  14. Coverboy – If I should keep going out with a woman who hasn’t had closure with the father of her child and still hopes they’ll be together everytime he visits from the U.S.

  15. Jose de vengenge – I don’t know how to tell my family na kickout na ko sa UP. I just found about it yesterday but already had an idea when the last sem ended. Everytime they tell me na ako lang ang makakaahon sa kanila, it kills me. I don’t know if I’d tell them and break their hearts or just pretend that everything’s fine, enroll in another school or find a job.

  16. A.C. – I’m not sure whether or not to tell my family that the father of my 3-yr-old son is my 1st degree cousin. He got married & had another girl pregnant wen I was 7 months pregnant.

  17. Dra. Lee – I can’t decide if I should believe my friend who’s telling me that my boyfriend is a bisexual or not. I’m really in a dilemma!

  18. Pareng Macke – I don’t know if I should tell my parents that I have 100% discount in our school for 2 yrs because I’m varsity. They thought it was only a 25% discount.

  19. Energy Elf – Leave my self centered wife and mother-in-law w/ my 2 wonderful sons. Or stay in the relationship for the sake of our kids.

  20. RC N CESS – A choice between whether or not telling my sister that my parents are divorcing. She’s busy wrapping up her nursing degree and I wouldn’t know how to deal with it.

  21. SPY Shadow – Until now, me and wife are still wondering what the hell is smaller, ‘kakatiting’ or ‘kakarampot’?

  22. Atlantis/Crammer – Choosing between my 2 sexualities. It’s like between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

  23. YñaKì – If you guys were me, will you tell your wife NOW that you have a 20-year old kid from your ex?

  24. Jose de vengenge – Kung magpapaano ba ko ng ano dahil sobrang ano, o hayaan ko nalang silang maano pag nagaano kami?
