I’ve heard many healers say, and I’ve read countless articles on, how stress is a primary cause of most illnesses we have or can get in our lifetime. We may think it’s just stress, not as bad as a high-fat diet, or smoking, or drinking, but it’s every bit as insidious. I’m under a lot of stress these days, and if I’m in the mood to share maybe I’ll post it one of these days. But not now.

February 8, 2008 → The Top Ten Most Stressful Moments

1. Loi Pogi – I was with friends in the car and we’re traversing the steep road from Talisay, Batangas paakyat ng Tagaytay. Babae yung nasa manibela. She’s not familiar with the road, and hindi niya kontrolado yung andar ng kotse. Sa sobrang takot ko, tumalon ako ng car.

2. No name – When I confronted my boyfriend’s kulasisi & made her admit of his fooling around. Worse, after I told him about her admission, he still denied! I broke up with him.

3. KiD BuKid – It must be those times when both my parents were hospitalized for months. I can’t have a decent sleep or meal, and I had to divide my time between them and my own family!

4. No name – When my kid stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks. Doctor said she needed to cut a part of her intestines. She was only 6 years old then. Good thing it didn’t happen.

5. Mokkie – My wedding preps! Correction…my MOM during our wedding preps last year! Especially when it came to our guestlist. One of her classic lines was, “Inimbita nila ako sa kasal ng anak nila, kaya dapat imbitahin ko din sila!” Argh!

6. MJ – The stress started just last m0nth. My boyfriend and I used to work in the same call center. When I transferred to a different company, my shift was from 4pm to 12mn, his shift was 2am to 11am. He w0uld ask me to stay with him in their office. So imagine I was like doing double shifts.

7. Trinity – When I had to leave my sons with my ex-husband. I sued him in court for custody & I was waiting for the protection order to be released. I cried almost everyday because of my worries.

8. Mrs. G – Finding out that our eldest, G1, was diabetic at 12. He lost a lot of weight and his circumcision cut took a while to heal. Imagine blaming Mr G’s gene pool for weeks! Hehehe…it’s been 10 years since. God has been kind. G1 is okay most of the time.

9. YñaKì – During the 80’s when me and my barkada partied hard which started by attending those afternoon discos, then party-hop from Rumors to Mars to the never-ending parties at Corinthian Garden. Stressful, pero sarap talaga mag-tipar noon!

10. HoneyLove – I just gave birth to my 2nd child when my husband was diagnosed with cerebral aneurysm. He underwent a 15-hour surgery and was in the ICU. I juggled my attention between my husband and my new born and 2-yr old kids. Sadly, my hubby didn’t make it and passed away a week after the surgery.

11. Joanna – Pooping at someone else’s toilet or at a public toilet. Sometimes it won’t come out.

12. Maximo – When me & my partner were having financial problems kasi pareho kaming nawlan ng work, lagi kaming naga-aaway. Nanay ko lang ang nagbibigay ng food sa amin. Pero now, okay na kami kasi hiwalay na kami.

13. KAT – Dealing with fact that a missile might hit our house anytime while we were sleeping, or getting shot while walking on the streets. It was an ugly stressful situation when we were in Beirut, Lebanon.

14. Bugoy – Being assigned by your boss to dissolve your own department, the one you helped create.

15. Rico – My UP thesis manuscript deleted by a computer virus before I could print it.

16. G.I. Jane – When I found out that my boyfriend got somebody else pregnant. It was his girlfriend who he promised to break up with.

17. No name – Nahuli ko girlfriend ko na may kalaguyo at the same time that I met this girl with the same experience with her boyfriend. Nagusap kami na we’ll do “it” para maghiganti. After the first round sabi nung girl, “Maghiganti ulit tayo”. Pagkatapos nun sabi naman niya, “Ituloy pa natin paghihiganti”. After 5 stressful rounds at parang gusto pa ulit gumanti, sabi ko sa girl, “Tara, patawarin na natin sila”.

18. No name – I was texting my colleague how stupid my boss was, when I accidentally sent it to my boss, whom I was face to face with during a meeting.

19. Happily Married – It was during my lolo’s wake. My 1st c0usin, who also happens to be my father mistress, went there with her child. Wala naman magawa nanay ko. She just keep staring at the child at medyo naiiyak kasi the baby lo0ked like my kid sister. My mother and have been suspecting na anak yun ng tatay ko.

20. McMaki – Nung ma-harass ako at “tinutukan” ng bading sa MRT.

21. Guy in need – When I was caught cheating by my wife when my office girlfriend spoke to her, the same day I bumped a master sergeant’s car at The Fort.

22. Ether – Dating two girlfriend on the same day, same time, and same place. It’s like having twin kids. You have to buy two of the same everything.

23. No name – When the wife of our boss demanded everyone in the office to identify the owner of every single telephone and cellphone number that appeared in the bill dated 2005 to present from the 6 telephone lines in our office.

24. Avi-Angel – When my boyfriend got mugged by 4 men near our subdivision after visiting me & he was stabbed in the neck w/an icepick. It’s a good thing he was still able to go back to our house while he was bleeding for help & we had to rush him to the hospital.

25. Enrico Gwapito – Back in my teenage days, when I was very much eager to explore my sexuality, I played around with an old Magnolia bottle and got my thingy stuck in the bottle. Imagine how stressful that was.
