Team Opting Out of Bowl Games

Not only are the games themselves being canceled, teams are electing not to play.

The list of such teams is now at four after Stanford. Boston College, Pitt and Virginia are the other three that have opted out as of this posting.

This doesn’t surprise me at all that teams are doing this, escpially those with lower tier bowl picks. It almost seems like a why bother risking everything to play a game thats basically for fun. While it does stink that we have less bowl games to watch as I said preveiously I don’t really mind the lower tier ones going away.

I just wonder if teams not playing will become the norm, or the minority. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
