Severn Vale: Severn Sins (England: Stout: 5.2% ABV)

Visual: Opaque black with a slight deep red when held to the light. Light brown head that thinly covers the pint.

Nose: Lots of coffee (roasted beans);

Body: Slick; bitter oats, very little alcohol punch. Brown bread. Slight golden syrup cake.

Finish: harsh bitter black coffee without sugar.

Conclusion: A straightforward stout with the coffee emphasised throughout. The lighter punch makes it easier to drink for a few pints that its competitors in the style. Whilst nice, not a pint for extended meditation upon.

Guest Taster: Dylan Ransom!

Visual: Very dark ruby/black with a tiny head.

Nose: Sweet caramel.

Body: Warm thick texture. Slightly sweet tangy.

Finish: Slight fizzy tongue, smooth.

Conclusion: Very pleasant stout. Smooth, semi sweet warm and nutty.
