Tasting Notes: Otter: Otter Ale

Otter Ale (England: Premium Bitter: 4.5% ABV)

Visual: Amber brown at the base rising through a haze to a bronzed red. Thin but creamy bubbled head.

Nose: Hops and a hint of chives.

Body: Malty and quite rich, smooth with a little brown sugar. Just a touch of squeezed orange. A light dash of hops and chocolate liquor.

Finish: Lasting bitterness at the back of the tongue. Burnt oak and charcoal

Conclusion: A refreshing beer, good for a session. The flavour is not overly harsh over multiple pints but not watery in a single drinking. Not a top of the range beer but lasts well for an afternoon drinking with friends.
