Tasting Notes: Northumberland: Lunatick

Northumberland: Lunatick (England: Bitter: 3.8% ABV)
Visual: Light burnished brown with a small brownish head
Nose: Crushed sesame seeds, malt and somewhat muggy hops.
Body: Slight malt, nuts and just a little sour. Some milky chocolate and cherries.
Finish: Slightly soured and charring. Slow burn mild hops. liquorice. Quite dusty.
Conclusion: You know, sometimes when you order a pint, take a sip then say “should have ordered a half”, that’s never a good sign is it?
The flavour that exists is outmatched by rank sourness that keeps intruding where it is not invited. The base of the beer hints at some good points, so its not completely fubar, but I wouldn’t recommended buying it yourself.
