Tasting Notes: Mikkeller: Black Hole

Mikkeller: Black Hole (Denmark: Imperial Stout: 13.1% ABV)

Visual: Utterly opaque black; no head and a thick pour.

Nose: Coffee, treacle, powerful punch of alcohol, roast dinner – beef and mash

Body: Sweet but heavy, sweet black toffee, chewy, black coffee. A treat, but very strong

Finish: Dark chocolate, coffee, rich and long lasting – very bitter edge. Sour mash. Finally sweet at the end.

Conclusion: A heavy gorgeous beer. Complex and almost overpowering. Harsh, complex and brilliant. If you find it and your up for a challenge drink it
