Mauldons: Black Adder (England: Stout: 5.3% ABV)

Visual: Very dark reddish brown with a bubbly toffee brown head.

Nose: Wheaty hops and grain fields. Slight lemon. Flower shop, peanuts and light toffee.

Body: Treacle toffee, chocolate cake, liquorish and cream – brandy cream. Fudge.

Finish: Liquorish and treacle, light charring and hops. Gin air. Bitter chocolate.

Conclusion: Creamy smooth, with tons of treacle and liquorish. Well bodied with a spirit like style to the finish. Hope you like liquorish as it really comes out throughout all the other flavours.

Makes for a good solid drinking and has enough to it in the body, even though the finish doesn’t quite match.

Not exceptional, but smooth enough to drink easy with a wodge of flavour. A surprisingly easy drinking punch of flavour.
