Tasting Notes: Brewdog: The Physics

Brewdog: The Physics (Scotland: Amber Ale: 5% ABV)
Visual: Just slightly hazy amber, almost red, beer. Still and with a small head.
Nose: Hops, toffee and malt, hint of grapefruit.
Body: Sharp, distinct grapefruit and hops. Fudge. Touch of strawberries then more hops. Good bitter punch.
Finish: Pink grapefruit, pineapple. Dry sponge. Cocoa. Quite sharp and citrus then slowly tails off.
Conclusion: The lost mainstay of early brewdog years. Never as popular as the Punk IPA it still shows a nice punch and sour pineapple/grapefruit touches with just a smidgen of fudge sweetness to round it out.
I can see why the beer has been retired as it does not hit as consistently high as most Brewdog beers, but it still was an interesting curiosity and it will be missed.
A decent hop and fruit kick to this beer makes it an experiment that most definitely had its moment to shine.
