Brewdog: Punk Monk (Scotland: IPA: 6% ABV)

Visual: Light clear bubbly gold with a thin dusting of a head.

Nose: Sharp citrus and hops. Pineapple. Orange sharpness and seems quite sweet.

Body: Creamy sweet syrup. Orange. Light hoppiness and pineapple. Quite smooth. Bitter bite at the back with some sourness.

Finish: Sharp. Lemon and bitter bites. Syrup then a dry note at the end. Long lasting dry and creamy finish.

Conclusion: Sweet sharp and delicious again. Same flavours as the punk ipa but in a much smoother and creamier body.

Very very tasty, however I still prefer the standard punk IPA as the smoother edge on this variant mellows out some of the characteristic bite. This doesn’t make it a bad beer, however and the more laid back nature most certainly has its time for drinking.

As a beer in itself as opposed to a beer as a punk IPA it is undeniably fantastic.
