Tasting Notes: Blindmans: Icarus

Blindmans Icarus (England: ESB: 4.5% ABV)

Visual: Dark brown red, not quite opaque. Medium dark brown head.

Nose: Hops, slight bitter chocolate and chocolate drink.

Body: Full chocolate, malted drinks on the front. Bitter depths and sweet golden syrup hints.

Finish: Dry powder, burnt wood, milk chocolate, light smoked feeling.

Conclusion: Very well put together, almost a mix between a lighter take on a porter and amber beer sweetness. Works very well and will stand for a good few pints. Definitely one to sample.
